Asian Americans have long been relegated to being invisible. Whether it is the lack of representation in the media, national political visibility, or the overwhelming attempt to define these citizens as perpetual foreigners, the fight for positive and accurate visibility remains. After months of research including: critical race theory, Asian American history, and qualitative data from young Asian creatives, Modeling a Minority is a collection that gives this unique and powerfully undefined community a visual voice. The clothes, with shapes inspired by clean lines of traditional Asian garments, are distinct and bold without the flash and shock of other modern brands.
